Stevenson’s Campus Safety personnel are dedicated around-the-clock to the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The Stevenson Campus Safety Department is comprised of 45 dedicated professionals and 2 supervisors from various public service backgrounds, including the Maryland State Police, Baltimore County Police, Baltimore County Fire and EMT services, and other security disciplines. Campus Safety Officers maintain an active presence on campus and are on duty at Owings Mills and Owings Mills North 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even when the campus is closed, it is protected by Campus Safety professionals. The Greenspring Campus is served by Safety Officers during all hours that the campus is open.

Campus Shelter-in-Place/Lockdown Information & Procedures
»¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵ Campus Safety Office has produced the following informational and instructional video for students, faculty, and staff. The video focuses on the “Run, Hide, Deny, Defend†protocols recommended by American law enforcement agencies in the event of an active shooter situation. Although we all hope that we never encounter such situations, this information in this video can help you protect yourself and others in the event of an active shooter situation.
The Daily Crime Log contains a list crimes reported to Campus Safety and is designed to provide crime information on a more timely basis than the annual security and fire safety report. It is available for review anytime at the Owings Mills Campus at the Safety office in the Ratcliffe Community center. On the Greenspring campus, contact Campus Safety who can make the log available for review during the hours the campus is open.

Emergency Snow and Weather Delays/Closing Guidelines 2023-2024
The safety of our campus community is always »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵ priority. Conditions can arise that require the delay or cancelation of classes and events as well as the closure of campus.
SUAlert is the fastest and most reliable source of information for campus closures and developing emergency situations. It is recommended that all students, faculty, and staff register for the SUAlert service.
Stevenson’s parking regulations have been designed for the general safety of the campus community. These regulations apply to all students, faculty, and staff members of »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵ.
The »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵ shuttle transports students between campuses and runs all day from the Owings Mills Campus and the Greenspring Campus, and back.

Emergency Phone Locations on Campus
For your safety, the University has installed emergency phones at both the Greenspring and Owings Mills locations.
At Greenspring, emergency phones are located in the parking lot, the Dawson Center, Knott Hall, the Manuszak Center, and in all elevators.
At Owings Mills, emergency phones are located in the parking lot and the quad-side entrances to the residence halls.
